Foundationalism: A Distinct Form of Traditional Conservatism
Foundationalism is a distinct and principled expression of Traditional Conservatism, grounded in the tenets outlined in the book
CHRIST OR COLLAPSE: The Case Against Godless Government
At its heart, this political philosophy recognizes that the enduring norms and values of historical Christianity should shape the laws, policies, and governance of a nation.
Foundationalists are committed to active political engagement at every level to restore these principles to the center of public life.
Although church-going citizens are a natural constituency, the movement advocates for the restoration of Christian norms and values primarily on historical and empirical grounds. The case is evidence-based: no other ideological framework has produced comparable conditions for individual and societal flourishing as the Christian moral framework.
Because the argument rests on demonstrable outcomes rather than theological agreement, participation does not require religious commitment—only a willingness to follow the evidence. Anyone, regardless of religious affiliation, who is persuaded by the facts is welcome to join the Foundationalist Movement.
The core tenets of Traditional Conservatism, as defined by the Foundationalist Movement, are detailed on our Principles Page.
For a full and comprehensive explanation of the Traditional Conservatism expressed as Foundationalism, explore the book CHRIST OR COLLAPSE: The Case Against Godless Government. It can be found here at CollegePress.com
